Nintendo unveils Pictonico! for iOS and Android, launching May 28

Nintendo has revealed Pictonico!, an innovative app designed to transform your photos into engaging minigames. Set to launch on May 28, it will be available for iOS through the App Store and Android via Google Play. The app will be free to start, but players will need to purchase a game volume for access to gameplay beyond limited free minigame demos.

Pictonico! brings a whimsical twist to your pictures, allowing players to create minigames based on their own photos. The game promises a variety of humorous scenarios, including surprising encounters with school sports stars on a red carpet and quirky situations involving family members, such as a boss in need of help or a grandparent dressed in a ballerina outfit.

Players can experiment with a selection of minigames for free, but can unlock up to 80 minigames ranging from simple to complex through the purchase of game volumes. The app also allows users to take new photos with friends and integrate them into the gameplay immediately.

While a constant online connection is not mandatory, temporary network access may be required for initial launch and game volume purchases, which could lead to data charges. Notably, user photos are not sent to Nintendo, ensuring privacy during gameplay.
