Roblox opens MENA headquarters in Riyadh

Key takeaways

  • Roblox to open MENA regional headquarters in Riyadh
  • Saudi Roblox creator earnings rose 59% year-over-year
  • Roblox creators globally earned over $1.5 billion in 2025
  • 700,000+ Saudi high school students joined the Play to Learn event

Roblox will establish its Middle East and North Africa regional headquarters in Riyadh as the company expands its investment in Saudi Arabia, the firm told PocketGamer.biz. The new Riyadh office is intended to support Saudi Arabia’s creator ecosystem and the country’s ambitions to become a global gaming hub, and has support from the Ministry of Investment of Saudi Arabia, Riyadh Creative District and the General Authority of Media Regulation.

Saudi Arabia ranks among Roblox’s top-grossing and most popular markets, with creator earnings in the country rising 59% year-over-year. Roblox also reported that creators worldwide earned more than $1.5 billion in 2025. Locally, Roblox has already been active: more than 700,000 Saudi high school students took part in the inaugural Play to Learn competition, and the company has an education-focused partnership with Savvy Games Group to teach STEM skills to Saudi students, creators and studios.

Roblox’s MENA and Türkiye GM Mohamed El Sheakh commented on the Riyadh decision, saying it reflects Roblox’s long-term investment and commitment to supporting the Kingdom’s digital economy objectives under Vision 2030. Saudi Esports Federation chairman HRH Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Sultan added that Roblox’s local presence “represents the type of long-term investment that will help establish Saudi Arabia as a global hub for the gaming industry.”

Why it matters

Takeaway: with formal backing from several Saudi bodies and an existing Savvy Games Group partnership, Roblox’s Riyadh HQ directly ties its regional operations to education, creator development and the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 goals.
