Upcoming Soft Launch Games from Major Developers

Bit Odd, a Finnish studio formed by veterans of Supercell’s Clash of Clans and Clash Royale, has introduced Bit Odd Field Day, a hybrid of MOBA and extraction shooter currently in early access in Canada, Indonesia, Malaysia, and the Philippines, with plans for broader access.

Blizzard is developing Overwatch Rush, a mobile-exclusive top-down hero shooter set in the Overwatch universe. While testing details are forthcoming, early reports indicate over 10,000 downloads for its iOS version in the Philippines.

Century Games has launched Just Desserts, a merge narrative game, on Android in Australia, Canada, the Philippines, and the UK, while Family Farm Merge blends merge gameplay with farming themes, currently in testing in the UK, France, Canada, and Germany.

Lordrush, another title from Century Games, combines medieval strategy elements, with a test launch expected on Google Play soon. EA’s Plants vs. Zombies 3: Evolved has also entered early access in Ireland and the Philippines, featuring plant merging mechanics to combat zombies.

Fingersoft’s Hill Climb Racing 3 introduces real-time multiplayer and is now soft-launched on Google Play in the UK, Norway, Sweden, and Finland. Garena is testing Garena Free City, a GTA-like game that began its Android soft launch in Argentina and is now gaining traction in the Philippines and other markets.

Hoyoverse has opened pre-registration for Petit Planet, a cozy life simulation game set in the Genshin Impact universe, following multiple beta tests. King and Mojang soft-launched Minecraft Blast in Malaysia and Canada on iOS, although it seems to have been temporarily removed from availability.

Beta testing continues for Monster Hunter Outlanders, a collaboration between Capcom and Tencent, with a global release anticipated this year. Pool City – 8 Ball is now in soft launch on Google Play across several regions including Australia, Canada, and the Philippines.

Limit Break’s Puzzle Panic, a 3D arcade puzzle game, is in limited testing on iOS in Singapore, New Zealand, and Australia. Metacore has re-entered the soft launch scene with a fantasy-themed merge game, set for release on Google Play in Australia and Canada.

Miniclip’s Pure Crime: Gangster Shooting has surfaced as an open-world crime game on Google Play in the Philippines. Paint Brawl, featuring gameplay reminiscent of Splatoon, is being rebranded to include characters from Subway Surfers and is attracting downloads in the UK and Philippines.

Moon Active is reportedly preparing to soft launch Family Bay, a follow-up to Family Island, in India, Kazakhstan, and Poland. Hole Stars: Puzzle Game, inspired by Voodoo's Hole.io, has launched on iOS in multiple countries including India, the UK, and the US.

Jelly Busters is a colorful action puzzler featuring skateboarding jelly cubes and is gaining downloads in various markets. Reality Bay, a merge 2 game set on a film set, has soft-launched on Google Play in India, Brazil, and the UK, among others.

Playrix’s Aqua Match brings the match-3 genre underwater and is available in twelve markets on iOS and Android. Austin’s Odyssey, another ‘scapes game, is currently testing in Australia, Canada, India, and the US.

FamilyScapes, focusing on family drama, is in soft launch on Android in various regions, while Match Around combines match-3 and merge-2 mechanics and is generating interest in India and Indonesia.

Questbound, a squad battler with a fantasy theme, is live in Australia, Canada, India, Indonesia, and the US on Android. Roomscapes is also in soft launch on Google Play in several markets.

PlayStation Mobile’s MLB: The Show is in soft launch on iOS and Android, currently recording downloads in the Philippines, Colombia, and the Dominican Republic. Ratchet & Clank: Ranger Rumble is playable in France and several other countries.

Rovio is moving into the match-3 arena with Angry Birds Match World, now available on iOS in the Philippines, UK, and Canada. Angry Birds Rush is in early testing in the US, while Bloom City Match has launched in multiple countries for both iOS and Android.
