Pixel Federation Rides the Rails to $48M in 2025 Thanks to TrainStation 3
Pixel Federation is chugging along nicely, reporting a whopping €41.2 million ($48.2 million) in revenue for 2025, a notable increase from €38.4 million ($44.9 million) in 2024. The driving force behind this impressive financial feat? None other than the global launch of TrainStation 3, which has officially become the studio's biggest debut in its 19-year history.
In just seven months, TrainStation 3 has already raked in nearly €8 million ($9.4 million) in revenue, leaving its predecessor, TrainStation 2, still in the lead overall with a solid €12.8 million ($15 million) earned in 2025. The new event mechanics introduced in TrainStation 3 have proven successful enough to warrant a wider rollout across Pixel Federation's game portfolio, promising to boost KPIs even further.
Meanwhile, the Pixel Shop, the company's direct payment platform, is not just riding the coattails of its flagship title; it now accounts for over 22% of mobile in-game revenue. Talk about a diversified income stream!
In addition to their financial milestones, Pixel Federation has also launched the Save The Rails charity initiative this year, donating €50,000 ($58,500) to support railway heritage projects in the UK and Slovakia, with plans for Baltimore to join the cause next year.
The studio hosted its inaugural public Pixel Game Jam and even experimented with a four-day work week—talk about a creative environment! CEO Daniel Duranka commented, "TrainStation 3 confirmed the long-term strength of our flagship franchise and our ability to evolve it for a new generation of players."
Why it matters
Looking ahead, the developer has some exciting plans lined up for 2026, including the global launch of the transport tycoon title Highway Heroes in June, the development of a new post-apocalyptic tycoon game, and the first-ever PixelCon conference set for September 14th. Buckle up, it’s going to be an exciting ride!
