Pikmin Bloom Sees Record Revenue as Taiwanese Spending Soars 902%

Pikmin Bloom has achieved record revenue, generating $35.7 million across Google Play and the App Store in the first half of 2026 alone. This figure represents 94% of the game's total earnings of $38.1 million from all of 2025, its most profitable year to date. Notably, Taiwanese players have driven this surge, accounting for 52% of global spending during H1 2026, with in-game purchases reaching $18.5 million—a staggering 902% increase over the same period last year.

Historically, Japan has led Pikmin Bloom's lifetime revenue, contributing 49% of earnings from major app stores. However, in H1 2026, its share dropped to just 23%, while Taiwan’s spending skyrocketed. The game, which launched in November 2021, has consistently increased player spending and is now scaling to introduce real-world events similar to those in Pokémon Go and Monster Hunter Now. Scopely acquired Pikmin Bloom as part of a $3.5 billion deal last year, positioning it for further growth.

Pikmin Bloom’s monthly revenue peaked at $8.7 million in May 2026, with 56% of that amount coming from Taiwan. Although June saw a slight decline to $7.1 million, it was still the game's second-best month ever, with Taiwan again contributing a majority of the spending. In contrast, Japanese spending decreased by 8% year-over-year compared to H1 2025.

The game witnessed a significant increase in installs in Taiwan starting in March 2024, with monthly downloads jumping from around 5,000 to over 20,000. Following the successful Pikmin Bloom Tour 2025: Kaohsiung event, installs reached a record 124,000 in November 2025 and peaked at nearly 700,000 in March 2026. This surge has led to discussions among players about resource shortages in urban areas, with one user expressing concern over the insufficient supply of mushrooms.

Why it matters

To capitalize on its growing popularity, Scopely has introduced a Gold Seedling event for players visiting Xpark Aquarium in Taoyuan, Taiwan, between July 1st and September 30th, which will sprout into a random Coral Decor Pikmin. Additionally, the game held a paid event in South Korea in May 2026, featuring special missions and exclusive content. With a dedicated web shop for direct-to-consumer purchases, Pikmin Bloom's actual earnings this year are likely even higher, solidifying its position as a strong contender in the mobile gaming market.
