Where Winds Meet adds Hota region on November 14

Key takeaways

  • Hota region update launches on November 14, 2026
  • Preview broadcast on official YouTube on November 3, 2026
  • Korean first-anniversary date: November 15, 2026
  • Where Winds Meet will appear at G-STAR 2026 from November 19 in Hall 2

Where Winds Meet (연운) will add a new region called Hota on November 14, NetEase Games and Everstone Studio announced. The update brings a war-scarred borderland to the game, complete with refugee columns, broken frontlines and large-scale encounters centered on the crushed crossing known as Jungdo Bridge.

Hota’s narrative aims to stage the player inside a recent conflict: northern invaders pressing across a collapsed border, desperate refugees, and bloody fights on the mid-bridge. NPCs include soldiers who resist orders and unnamed good Samaritans who hide refugees, and those characters are meant to feed situational storytelling tied to the region’s environment. The patch also adds new combat content: a named battle mode called Hotaha (진수전 '호타하') that puts players against the Khitan general Sohan (소한).

World-level threats arrive with the update as well. Players will encounter a new world boss called Cheonaegak-Byungseon (천애객-병선) and the Khitan shaman Yayul Abuli (야율아불리). A new martial style, Ssangchang (쌍창술), supervised by martial choreography director Won Hwapyung—who worked on Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon—is included too. Ssangchang splits into a light spear for strong offensive pressure and a heavy spear specialized for counters, with a two-handed weapon skill set that lets characters swap stances quickly for high-speed combos. The update also introduces two board-game modes titled 'Race Dice' (경주사위놀이) and 'Gangho Great Game' (강호 대국).

NetEase and Everstone will host a special preview stream on November 3 via the official Where Winds Meet YouTube channel. The broadcast will cover Hota’s battlefield details, gameplay analysis, and the global event schedule tied to the game’s first anniversary since global release. November brings anniversary celebrations: the global first-anniversary events in November will grant what the studio calls the most generous in-game rewards since launch, while the Korean launch first anniversary falls on November 15. To connect with Korean players in person, Where Winds Meet will run an exhibition booth at G-STAR 2026 starting November 19 in Exhibition Hall 2.

Why it matters

If you want an early look or extra anniversary loot, note the November 3 preview and the G-STAR booth opening on November 19—those are the two concrete chances the studio has scheduled for deeper Hota briefings and live player interaction.
