Mobile and Roblox Nominated at 2026 Games for Change Awards

The 2026 Games for Change Awards have revealed their finalists, showcasing an impressive array of mobile titles and Roblox experiences nominated alongside educational projects from around the globe. Notably, Roblox experiences dominated the Best Platform-Based Project category, with titles like MUDEMverse and Planet Planners on Roblox among the shortlisted projects. This year's finalists were selected from entries across 42 countries, featuring developers from 12 different nations.

Mobile games are prominently represented in various categories. The title and Roger received nominations for Best Gameplay, Best Impact, and Best Narrative. Other noteworthy mobile nominees include Consume Me, which is up for Best Gameplay and Best Narrative, as well as environmental impact finalist Out and About and health-focused entries ARWell PRO and Camp Movewell.

In addition to mobile, the Best Platform-Based Project category recognized MUDEMverse, Planet Planners on Roblox, and Sesame Street: Magical Beastie Quest. A full list of finalists includes:

Best Gameplay features and Roger by TearyHand Studio and Kodansha, Consume Me by Hexecutable LLC, and South of Midnight by Compulsion Games and Xbox Game Studios.

For Best in Community Empowerment, nominees are Powwow Bound: A Menominee Homecoming by Nebraska Public Media and PBS Wisconsin, Relooted by Nyamakop, and The Darkest Files by Paintbucket Games.

Environmental Impact nominees consist of Imaginary Atlas, Amazônia by MIT Media Lab and Quanta, FACEMINER by Wristwork, and Out and About by Yaldi Games.

Health & Wellness nominations include ARWell PRO by Augment Therapy, Camp Movewell by Carnegie Mellon University's Entertainment Technology Center, and Year of the Cicadas.

In the Best in Impact category, contenders are and Roger, Eddie and I by Moosh Studio, Reynard Films, Studio Geppetto, and Unframed Collection, and South of Midnight.

Best in Learning finalists are Let's Cook Up a Story! by Jackie Nam and Minami Matsumoto, The Darkest Files, and The Fluffle Factory by Nurture Holdings.

The Best in XR & Emerging Media category recognizes A Long Goodbye by Timescapes and Polygoat, Climate Station by Sony Interactive Entertainment, and Eddie and I.

Finally, the Best Narrative category includes and Roger, Consume Me, and The Alters by 11 bit studios.

Why it matters

Games for Change president Susanna Pollack emphasized the significance of this year's entries, stating, "Every year, the G4C Awards give us a clearer picture of where this space is going, and this year’s finalists are telling a new chapter of that story." Winners will be announced during the Games for Change Awards Ceremony on July 21st.
