Affle Acquires AdColony Assets to Boost Mobile Advertising
Affle has officially acquired select assets from AdColony, including its SDKs, technology platform, and brand integrations, as part of its strategy to expand its mobile advertising reach. This move aligns with Affle's ambitious 10X growth strategy, aiming to enhance its AI-driven consumer conversion platform. The asset purchase agreement, finalized with Digital Turbine, encompasses AdColony's Android and iOS SDKs, technology infrastructure, and mediation platform integrations, along with the brand name and domain.
Through this acquisition, Affle plans to broaden its network of mobile publishers globally, thereby strengthening its technology stack and improving its CPCU (Cost Per Converted User) model. Anuj Khanna Sohum, Affle's Managing Director and CEO, emphasized the significance of integrating AdColony into their operations to facilitate premium conversions for advertisers by leveraging enhanced audience intelligence across various industry verticals.
Why it matters
Conversely, Digital Turbine intends to streamline its focus on core media and distribution platforms as well as its data assets. CEO Bill Stone noted that this strategic decision follows their previous acquisitions of Fyber and AdColony, leading to a consolidation around a single exchange platform, now known as DTX. He acknowledged Affle as a suitable partner for the AdColony assets, indicating that this transaction will enhance their commercial relationship and create additional value for advertisers, publishers, and partners.
