Happinet to Publish Tokyo Stories as Wishlists Hit 50K

Happinet Corporation has confirmed it will publish the adventure game Tokyo Stories under its Happinet Indie Collection label, as the title has surpassed 50,000 wishlists before launch. Originally announced in 2022, the game is being planned and produced by Drecom, with development support from CharacterBank. Tokyo Stories centers on Suzu, a young woman searching for her missing best friend, Yuno, while also featuring a young man with a hidden secret. The gameplay alternates between exploration and puzzle-solving. The game is currently set for PC via Steam and will be showcased at Kyoto BitSummit PUNCH starting May 22, where attendees can experience an early demo at Happinet's booth, alongside themed activities.

MOTORSLICE Recoups Costs in Hours, Touted as ‘Very Successful’

Top Hat Studios and Regular Studio have revealed that their post-apocalyptic parkour game, MOTORSLICE, has recouped its development costs within just hours of launching. While specific sales metrics haven't been disclosed, the developers declared the launch a resounding success. Players control P, navigating the wreckage of a megastructure where a routine job spirals into chaos. The gameplay features dynamic parkour, acrobatic maneuvers, and chainsaw-assisted jumps as players aim to dismantle machines within the ruins. The fully voiced narrative, featuring Kira Buckland as P, is complemented by a low-poly art style, physics-based puzzles, and a soundtrack crafted by Pizza Hotline. MOTORSLICE is currently available on PC via Steam.
