FirstLook Agent Transforms Player Data into Marketing Campaigns

FirstLook has unveiled the FirstLook Agent, an AI tool aimed at helping game studios streamline their marketing efforts by consolidating fragmented player and community data into actionable campaigns. This innovative platform allows studios to craft campaigns using straightforward text prompts, enhancing their ability to analyze sentiment, identify player behaviors, segment audiences, generate relevant content, and deploy targeted marketing strategies across specific player groups. The FirstLook Agent supports analysis across various platforms, including Twitch, Discord, TikTok, and Steam, ensuring that marketing efforts reach players where they are most active. Integrated reporting and analytics enable studios to measure the effectiveness of their campaigns efficiently. Notably, companies like Team17, Avalanche Studios Group, Krafton, and Remedy Entertainment are already leveraging this technology to enhance their marketing initiatives. Additionally, the FirstLook Agent can connect with AI assistants such as Claude and ChatGPT through FirstLook’s MCP server, allowing teams to initiate campaigns directly from chat-based interfaces. This integration is particularly beneficial in an era where game marketing has become increasingly complex due to the proliferation of communication channels and the overwhelming amount of data available. Robert van Hoesel, founder and CPO of FirstLook, emphasized the challenges community managers face in navigating multiple channels and gathering player insights. He noted that community managers often spend significant time sifting through Discord chats, Steam reviews, and playtime data to gauge player sentiment. With the FirstLook Agent, all relevant signals regarding player engagement—from sentiment and playtime to purchases and community discussions—are centralized, empowering studios to act decisively. This capability facilitates re-engaging inactive players, crafting announcements, and addressing community issues proactively, ultimately fostering stronger player relationships at scale.

Lilith Games’ Clash of Critters Launches Globally Today

Lilith Games has officially launched its new mobile game, Clash of Critters, globally on both iOS and Android. After spending a month in soft launch, this title combines elements of tower defense, idle progression, and creature collection, featuring over 100 unique 'Tataris' for players to raise, feed, and train for battle. Each Tatari can be enhanced through feeding or evolution, allowing them to transform into new forms, while also introducing strategic layers with various elemental types such as water, rock, and grass. Notable Tataris include the hot-tempered cat Flameow and the goofy llama Lollama, designed with a cute and cozy aesthetic. Players have the option to purchase Glitter Fruit, which triggers mutations in the Tataris, granting them Glitter Forms. To encourage in-game spending, Lilith Games has introduced a limited-time "sprinting pack" aimed at converting free-to-play users into paying players. The company plans to monetize Clash of Critters in the long term through weekly and monthly paid passes. Clash of Critters initially released in most regions on April 21st, 2026, during its soft launch phase. Today marks its global release, although markets like China, Japan, Korea, and Taiwan remain excluded. This strategy mirrors that of Lilith's previous title, AFK Journey, which saw a Western-focused launch followed by an Asian release, with China becoming a significant market post-launch. Vincent Ou, Lilith’s head of strategy and investment, previously noted the increasing expectations of players, emphasizing the need for developers to be more thoughtful and efficient in creating new titles.

Arctic Game Introduces Six-Month Incubation Model for Indie Studios

Arctic Game has launched a six-month incubation model designed to assist indie game studios in transitioning from prototype to market-ready releases. This initiative responds to a growing trend in the industry where publishers and investors demand earlier evidence of traction and market validation. Unlike traditional incubators that emphasize lengthy development cycles, this program focuses on expediting project scopes, facilitating quicker releases, and fostering learning through the process of shipping games. The incubation model requires participating teams to enter with existing concepts and prototypes. Over the six months, the emphasis will be on balancing commercial potential, creative identity, intellectual property development, and community feedback. Given the shift towards later-stage publishing agreements, Arctic Game aims to fill the financing gap that early-stage indie developers face. The incubation process kicked off in November 2025, with final pitches scheduled for June 2026. Daniel Wilén, managing director of Arctic Game, highlighted the challenge indie developers encounter as publishers tend to initiate deals at more advanced stages, necessitating proof of traction and market engagement. Tim Leinert from Arctic Game noted that this program is not a one-size-fits-all solution. While longer development cycles may suit some projects, the incubator is tailored to help teams scope their projects realistically and reduce risks to achieve quicker market releases. This discussion about accelerating sustainable indie game development coincides with significant upcoming industry events in the Nordic region, including Pocket Gamer Connects Summit Malmö on May 27th and 28th, followed by PGC Helsinki on October 20th and 21st.

Supercell Relaunches Mo.co with New Seasons and Free Gacha Pulls

Supercell is giving its monster hunting game Mo.co a fresh start tomorrow, introducing a monthly season pass system and free gacha pulls. According to estimates from Appmagic, Mo.co has generated nearly $4.7 million in in-app purchase revenue from 8.5 million downloads since its phased, invite-only launch in March 2025. The game’s top revenue-generating markets include the US (26% of lifetime IAPs), Germany (9%), France (8%), South Korea (5%), and Italy (4%). After months of teasing a ‘Neo Mo.co’ reboot on social media and Discord, the developers unveiled the changes in a YouTube video and blog post yesterday. The revamped Mo.co will feature new weapons, various gameplay adjustments, and a season pass that includes ‘weapon sprints’ for players to earn additional in-game rewards. The newly introduced gacha pulls, dubbed Perks, can also be obtained through these weapon sprints. Community manager Joao Freitas clarified on X that Perks cannot be purchased, emphasizing that “there are no plans to monetize them.” He reiterated that Mo.co will continue to be monetized solely through cosmetic items. Each season lasts a month and includes weekly contracts, expeditions, and weapon dojos. Additionally, a new mode called ‘score hunt’ has been added, along with an ‘Elite hunter path’ rewards system aimed at the most dedicated players. In the reboot video, Freitas reflected on the journey from launch to the current revamp, stating, “It’s a big update with lots of new features, some you’ll love, some we’ll keep improving.” He encouraged player feedback through social media, Discord, and in-game surveys, highlighting the importance of community input in shaping the game’s future. After the announcement of Squad Busters’ shutdown last October, there was speculation among Mo.co players about the game’s fate due to its modest earnings compared to other Supercell titles. However, Supercell assured players that Mo.co would not be discontinued and instead confirmed the reboot.
