Where Winds Meet Expands with Imperial Palace and Gauntlet Mayhem

Everstone Studio is turning up the heat for the half-anniversary of Where Winds Meet, and it’s not just a cake and candles affair. Get ready for the grand unveiling of the "Imperial Palace" expansion, set to drop in late May for PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam. This is no mere add-on; it’s a full-blown narrative shift from the rugged Hexi frontier to the plush political drama at the empire’s heart. Expect a royal court bustling with thousands of NPCs, intrigue-laden storylines featuring the royal family, and plenty of conspiracies to unravel as players delve deeper into the Jianghu saga.

But that’s not all—Everstone is also rolling out a new weapon type to spice up the combat. Introducing Gauntlets, launching this summer, designed for those who prefer their martial arts up close and personal. Say goodbye to defensive swordplay and hello to heavy melee strikes as you pummel your way through enemies. Talk about a punchy addition!

In June, players can also look forward to the introduction of Homesteads, which will allow you to settle down in Qinghe and customize your own slice of paradise. Think farming, non-combat activities, and a cozy player abode—perfect for those who want to kick back after a long day of adventuring. Also coming in June are two new gameplay modes: a five-player cooperative PvE experience titled “Martial Path Domain” and a thrilling tomb raiding escapade where players can dig for treasures while fending off competitors and foes alike.

Everstone is not just adding content; they're also introducing a Companion system featuring animal partners that adapt and evolve based on your interactions. Who could resist a loyal pet that grows alongside you?

As part of the half-anniversary festivities, a limited-time Panda outfit will be available for 60 Echo Beads (around $0.99 USD) starting May 19, and it will remain on sale until June 17. Plus, players can snag three premium outfits for free during the celebration. Everstone isn’t leaving any stone unturned; they’ve implemented over 100 adjustments and optimizations in response to player feedback over the past two months. This includes enhancements to controller support, PvP matchmaking, guild wars, progression balancing, and PS5 performance tweaks.

Why it matters

Looking to expand their horizons, the developer also plans to boost server support in Australia, South America, and the Middle East in future updates. Eric, the Head of Publishing for Where Winds Meet, expressed his gratitude to the community, vowing to keep the content rolling while ensuring that Jianghu remains a vibrant and rewarding experience. A new half-anniversary special video dropped alongside this roadmap announcement, giving players a sneak peek of what’s to come. With Where Winds Meet currently available on PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam, the excitement is palpable. What are your thoughts on the Imperial Palace expansion and the new Gauntlets weapon class? Let’s hear it!
