Soft Launch Roundup: New Games from Major Developers
Several prominent mobile game developers are currently testing new titles in soft launch, providing a glimpse into upcoming gaming experiences. This list, organized by publisher and then alphabetically, includes details about each game, though all information is subject to change as updates roll in every two weeks.
Bit Odd, a Finnish studio formed by veterans of Clash of Clans and Clash Royale, has debuted its first title, Bit Odd Field Day. This game combines elements of MOBA and extraction shooter genres and is currently in early access in Canada, Indonesia, Malaysia, and the Philippines, with additional regions expected soon.
Blizzard is working on Overwatch Rush, a top-down mobile-exclusive hero shooter set in the Overwatch universe. Though it is still in early development, Appmagic reports that the iOS version has already garnered over 10,000 downloads in the Philippines, with testing in selected countries anticipated.
Century Games has released Just Desserts, a new merge narrative game from the makers of Whiteout Survival, which is now available on Android in Australia, Canada, the Philippines, and the UK. Another title, Family Farm Merge, blends merge gameplay with farming elements and is currently in early testing, attracting downloads in the UK, France, Canada, and Germany.
EA has launched Plants vs. Zombies 3: Evolved in the Philippines, UK, Malaysia, and Singapore, promising further rollout updates in the near future. Fingersoft's Hill Climb Racing 3 introduces real-time multiplayer for the first time and is in soft launch on Google Play in the UK, Norway, Sweden, and Finland.

Hole Stars: Puzzle Game, a variant of Voodoo's Hole.io, has soft launched on iOS in several markets, including India and the US. Jelly Busters, an action puzzle game featuring pixel art and skateboarding jelly cubes, is being downloaded across iOS and Android in various countries.
Reality Bay, a merge 2 game set on a film set, has soft launched on Google Play in India, Brazil, and the UK. Yarn It is currently only available on Google Play in Israel and resembles Jelly Busters.
Playrix's Aqua Match takes the match-3 genre underwater and is available in 12 markets on both iOS and Android. Austin’s Odyssey, another Playrix title, is out on Google Play in Australia, Canada, India, and the US, focusing on the comedic butler, Austin.
FamilyScapes, a narrative-driven ‘scapes game, is in soft launch on Android in the US, Canada, Australia, Indonesia, and India. Match Around combines match-3 and merge 2 mechanics and has launched in India and Indonesia, with additional soft launches in Australia, Canada, and the US.
Questbound, a squad battler with a fantasy theme, is live in Australia, Canada, India, Indonesia, and the US on Android. Roomscapes is currently available on Google Play and is seeing downloads in India, the US, and other smaller markets.
PlayStation Mobile has confirmed that Ratchet & Clank: Ranger Rumble, a multiplayer platformer arena shooter, is now playable in France and several other regions including Denmark and Norway. Rovio is also expanding its Angry Birds franchise with Angry Birds Match World, now available on iOS in the Philippines, UK, Australia, and Finland, as well as Angry Birds Rush, currently in early testing on iOS and Android in the US.
Bloom City Match, another title from Rovio, is released in several European countries for both iOS and Android. Supercell's Boat Game, a third-person looter-shooter, is approaching a soft launch in 29 markets, primarily in Europe, with a potential release in the US, Canada, and Puerto Rico.
Why it matters
Hay Day Match, developed by Playabit, is a spin-off of Supercell's original game and is currently in testing. Lastly, Take-Two/Zynga's Borderlands Mobile has briefly appeared on iOS in the US but has since been removed. Zynga and NaturalMotion are also testing CSR 3 on iOS and Android across various regions.
