Soft Launches from Major Developers You Should Know

A roundup of current soft launches reveals a variety of titles from leading mobile game developers. This list is organized by publisher and presented in alphabetical order. Please note that all details are subject to change, and updates occur biweekly.

Bit Odd has launched its debut game, Bit Odd Field Day, in early access across Canada, Indonesia, Malaysia, and the Philippines. This title combines elements of MOBA and extraction shooter genres, developed by a team with a history at Supercell.

Blizzard is working on Overwatch Rush, a top-down hero shooter set in the Overwatch universe. While it's still in early development, the iOS version has already amassed over 10,000 downloads in the Philippines according to Appmagic.

Century Games has introduced Just Desserts, a narrative merge game that has soft launched on Android in Australia, Canada, the Philippines, and the UK. Another title, Family Farm Merge, is also in early testing, blending merge mechanics with farming themes, and is seeing initial downloads in the UK, France, Canada, and Germany.

EA’s Plants vs. Zombies 3: Evolved has soft launched in the Philippines, UK, Malaysia, and Singapore, with plans for a broader rollout. Farlight is preparing to launch Totally Mall: Merge & Gossip, a new merge puzzle game themed around the 1980s.

Fingersoft's Hill Climb Racing 3 has introduced real-time multiplayer and is currently in soft launch on Google Play in the UK, Norway, Sweden, and Finland. Garena's new title, Garena Free City, is a GTA-like game that has started soft launching in Argentina and is now recording downloads in the Philippines and several other smaller markets.

Paint Brawl, an arena shooter similar to Splatoon, has been rebranded to include characters from Subway Surfers and is currently gaining traction in the UK and Philippines. Rival Nations has soft launched on Android in several European countries, while Moon Active is set to launch Family Bay, a follow-up to Family Island, in India, Kazakhstan, and Poland.

Hole Stars: Puzzle Game has soft launched on iOS in various regions including India and the UK. Jelly Busters, an action puzzle game featuring skateboarding jelly cubes, is also seeing downloads in multiple countries. Reality Bay, a merge 2 game, is now available on Google Play in India, Brazil, and the UK.

Yarn It is currently only available in Israel on Google Play. Nexon's Higan: Eruthyll, an adult RPG, is gearing up for soft launch testing on both Android and iOS. Playrix has Aqua Match, a match-3 game set underwater, available in twelve markets on both platforms.

Austin’s Odyssey, a new entry in the ‘scapes franchise focused on comedy, is out on Google Play in Australia, Canada, India, and the US. FamilyScapes, another family drama ‘scapes title, is in soft launch on Android in several regions. Match Around, merging match-3 and merge mechanics, is generating downloads in India and Indonesia while also preparing to launch in Australia, Canada, and the US.

Questbound, a squad battler with a fantasy theme, is live on Android in Australia, Canada, India, Indonesia, and the US. Roomscapes is currently seeing downloads in India, the US, and other smaller markets.

PlayStation Mobile's Ratchet & Clank: Ranger Rumble is now playable in France and other selected countries. Salvo has launched a sports predictions app available in beta on iOS. Scopely's WWE Generations: Eras Collide is a turn-based RPG that has soft launched on iOS in the Philippines, allowing players to manage teams of WWE stars.

Why it matters

Rovio is venturing into match-3 gameplay with Angry Birds Match World, currently soft launched on iOS in several regions. Angry Birds Rush, another title in early testing, is being developed alongside Oh BiBi.
