Aniimo Surpasses 10 Million Global Pre-Registrations
Pawprint Studio announced that its upcoming open-world monster-catching RPG, Aniimo, has exceeded 10 million global pre-registrations as of September 9. Since its reveal at major gaming events like Gamescom, Tokyo Game Show, and Future Games Show last year, Aniimo has generated significant interest from players worldwide. The game features a unique Twine system that allows players to form bonds with various creatures, known as Aniimos, and experience exploration and combat from their perspective. This system is designed to go beyond simple monster collection or companionship, enabling players to explore the open world using the Aniimos' abilities and viewpoints.
Aniimo incorporates a real-time capture system, allowing players to catch Aniimos directly from the field without transitioning to a separate battle screen. The capture method and the Aniimo's condition can influence the outcome, adding a strategic element to gameplay. Each Aniimo possesses unique abilities, which can be utilized to solve puzzles or discover hidden areas, seamlessly integrating capture and exploration into its gameplay structure.
Why it matters
Visually, Aniimo aims to convey personality through detailed representations of creature fur, movements, and expressions, making each Aniimo feel lifelike. The game combines cartoon-style aesthetics with realistic textures to deliver a warm and vibrant visual experience. Additionally, Aniimo is being developed as a cross-platform title, supporting PC, iOS, Android, PlayStation 5, and Steam. This allows for a rare cross-platform environment in the open-world monster-catching genre, enabling players to explore the same world across different devices. Currently, Aniimo is also recruiting participants for its global closed beta test (CBT), with more details available through its official lounge and social media channels.
