Consume Me, Seumas McNally Grand Prize Winner, Launches on iOS

Consume Me, the recipient of the 2025 Seumas McNally Grand Prize, is now available for iPhone and iPad. Developer Jenny Jiao Hsia shared the announcement on Bluesky, expressing her belief that mobile is the ideal platform for the game. Hsia mentioned, "I genuinely think this is the best way to play the game. And I had always envisioned Consume Me as a phone game because I’m not really a gamer… I made this game for my younger self who did not really play games on the computer."

The game features a collection of food-themed minigames and time management challenges, all woven together with a narrative that reflects Hsia's experiences in high school. Hsia and her collaborator AP Thomson began developing the game during their undergraduate studies, and a decade later, they achieved significant recognition, including winning the Seumas McNally Grand Prize at the Independent Game Festival in 2025. In addition to this prestigious award, the game was also honored with the Nuovo award in the same year and later received a social impact award at the Game Developers Choice Awards in 2026. Furthermore, the Mac version of Consume Me is nominated for a social impact award at this year’s Apple Design Awards.
