May’s Top Grossing Mobile Games: Honor of Kings, Whiteout Survival, and More
According to data from Appmagic, the top grossing mobile games for May showcased significant earnings from in-app purchases (IAP), excluding ad revenue, web shop spending, and platform cuts. Honor of Kings experienced a notable month, increasing its earnings by approximately $20 million to exceed $161 million, though it remains below January’s peak of $193 million. Whiteout Survival, despite a slight decline for the second month in a row, maintained earnings around the $110 million mark. Meanwhile, puzzle games Royal Match and Gossip Harbor each reported around $100 million, showing no significant change month-on-month.
Candy Crush Saga returned to its typical earnings pattern, generating nearly $100 million from IAPs monthly after a dip below $80 million in February, the first such decline since February 2023. Roblox and PUBG Mobile retained their sixth and seventh positions, respectively, consistently reporting similar earnings for two consecutive months. Century Games’ Kingshot reached its highest performance ever in May, with over $91 million, marking a steady rise since breaking into the top earners in August 2025.
Monopoly Go faced a significant drop in IAP revenue since January, falling from regular earnings of $110-120 million to around $80 million since February, with the impact of a major Simpsons crossover yet to be seen. Last War, which had been a mainstay in the top five for years, saw a dramatic decrease from its usual earnings range of $125-135 million to about $82 million in May, marking three months of substantial decline.
