LVL Zero Launches Mentor Network for Indian Game Studios

LVL Zero is raising the bar for aspiring game developers in India by unveiling a global mentor network for its inaugural gaming incubator cohort. With an impressive lineup featuring experts from tech giants like Google, Microsoft, and NCSoft, this initiative is set to nurture some of the most promising Indian game studios.

The incubator spans a rigorous 100-day program that emphasizes the build-test-launch trifecta. Thanks to backing from MIXI Global Investments, Nazara Technologies, and Chimera VC, LVL Zero will guide ten selected startups through this execution-focused incubation journey.

The mentor roster reads like a who’s who of the gaming industry, bringing in professionals not only from Google and Microsoft’s Xbox division but also specialists in publishing, live operations, analytics, marketing, audio production, and investment readiness. This diverse expertise aims to infuse new life into the creative processes of these startups.

Throughout the program, mentors will dive into bi-weekly sprint reviews, product feedback sessions, playtesting analysis, and go-to-market strategies. Unlike typical advisory roles that merely offer a nod of approval, this model embeds mentors directly into the development process, ensuring their hands-on expertise is felt at every turn.

Sagar Nair, LVL Zero’s head of incubation, put it succinctly: "Access to capital is crucial, but what early-stage game studios in India have lacked most is access to real, hands-on expertise. With this mentor network, we are bringing in operators who have built, shipped, and scaled games globally, embedding them directly into the founders’ journey. This isn’t advisory in isolation; it’s execution support at every step.

Why it matters

Over the next 100 days, the focus is clear: help these teams build better products, faster, and prepare them to compete on a global stage. Earlier this month, LVL Zero’s founding partner, Krish Anurag, shed light on the incubator’s equity-free funding model and the rationale behind the 100-day framework. With this initiative, the future of Indian game development is looking bright, and the world better watch out!
