Lords of the Fallen II Breaks Free from Epic Games Store Exclusivity
CI Games has revealed a significant shift for Lords of the Fallen II, announcing that it will no longer be an Epic Games Store exclusive on PC. The studio has signed a separation agreement with Epic Games Publishing, paving the way for the game to launch on multiple PC storefronts. This means players will have more options to purchase and play the highly anticipated title.
In a move that showcases their ambition, CI Games will be self-publishing Lords of the Fallen II across all platforms, while PLAION takes on the role of handling physical distribution worldwide. Despite this change, the game will still utilize Epic's technologies, including Unreal Engine 5 and Epic Online Services, which are essential for features like cross-platform multiplayer, matchmaking, friends lists, and shared-progression co-op.
Marek Tymiński, CEO of CI Games, expressed gratitude for Epic's support, stating, "Epic was there for CI Games exactly when we needed them most. Their support and belief in the project made a real difference, and for that we are truly grateful." He emphasized that with the cutting-edge technologies from Epic, the team is committed to delivering a high-performance game set in a vast world that players can explore together.
