Killer Inn Free Trial Kicks Off with NieR:Automata Collaboration

Square Enix has rolled out a free trial for its asymmetrical multiplayer action game Killer Inn, just in time for a fresh collaboration with NieR:Automata. This trial is now live, but players should note there are some restrictions on matchmaking eligibility and the characters they can play. Fear not, for those who decide to snag the full version later will retain all the progress made during the trial period.

The NieR:Automata crossover brings a bounty of themed cosmetics and rewards to the table. Players can look forward to two collaboration skins inspired by the iconic characters 2B and 9S, along with themed banners, pixel-art emotes, player titles, and a limited-time battle pass that offers unlockable rewards tied to the event.

In tandem with the collaboration, Patch 0.9.3 has launched, introducing multiple gameplay updates and balance tweaks. Among the changes, custom match functionality has expanded, instant-kill defense mechanics have been revised, and beginner matchmaking has been updated. Notably, the Showdown mode will now kick off once six players remain instead of three, enhancing the competitive experience. Additionally, there are character balance adjustments, weapon changes, and a slew of bug fixes.

Why it matters

As if that wasn't enough to entice players, Killer Inn is currently enjoying a hefty 75% discount until June 4, 2026, making it an opportune moment to dive into the game. Killer Inn can be found on PC via Steam.
