Goddess of Victory: NIKKE Unveils Ark Ranger Event and Character Ark Black

Level Infinite and SHIFT UP have announced a significant update for Goddess of Victory: NIKKE, introducing the Ark Ranger event, themed around tokusatsu. Set to launch on June 11, this update will be available on both PC and mobile platforms, including iOS and Android. The highlight of this update is the new playable character, Ark Black, who is intricately linked to the event’s narrative.

The Ark Ranger event draws inspiration from classic Japanese superhero television shows, featuring Ark Black alongside fellow heroines Ark Red and Ark Blue as the leading figures in the Ark’s most popular tokusatsu production. This story event showcases the trio as they engage in elaborate battles and transformation sequences, all while performing for the camera. However, the plot delves deeper as it focuses on Ark Black's personal struggles, including trauma and loss, presenting a poignant exploration of the distinction between the heroic personas seen on screen and the individuals behind them.

In addition to Ark Black, the update introduces a new costume for Moran, the head of the Peony underworld organization. While Moran is well-known in the Ark for her fierce reputation and assertive leadership, this update reveals a more vulnerable side, showcasing her difficulties with social interactions despite her confident exterior and her deep protectiveness over her subordinates.

Why it matters

The Ark Ranger update follows closely on the heels of NIKKE’s 3.5 Anniversary celebration, which featured the Lights of Hope event, new story chapters, and several new playable characters centered around Anis and the in-game idol group T.T. STAR. Goddess of Victory: NIKKE is currently accessible on PC and mobile devices via iOS and Android.
