Demeo x Dungeons & Dragons: Battlemarked launches ‘Acquisitions Incorporated’ update

Resolution Games has launched the ‘Acquisitions Incorporated’ update for its cooperative tactical adventure game Demeo x Dungeons & Dragons: Battlemarked, developed in collaboration with Penny Arcade. This update introduces a distinct shift in tone, moving from the heroic and grounded elements of the core campaign to a more chaotic and comedic experience. Resolution Games CEO Tommy Palm emphasized that the update captures the essence of Acquisitions Incorporated, mixing get-rich-quick schemes with unexpected outcomes.

The update, available as a free download on all supported platforms, invites players to embark on a quest primarily focused on acquiring gold, though adventure also plays a role. The storyline centers on Omin Dran, voiced by Jerry Holkins, who recruits players into dubious business ventures from the Emerald Tavern in Campaign 1. Players can expect the narrative to escalate from simple tasks to elaborate operations filled with infiltration and arcane experimentation.

The ‘Acquisitions Incorporated’ storyline features five side quests integrated into Campaign 1, allowing players to tackle them alongside the main adventure or as a standalone arc after defeating the final boss. The new quests promise two to four hours of gameplay, revisiting familiar locations and engaging with various factions, all under the premise that success is relative when Acquisitions Incorporated is involved.

Why it matters

This update reinforces Resolution Games’ dedication to expanding the digital tabletop experience, which immerses players in the Dungeons & Dragons universe without requiring a dungeon master. Demeo x Dungeons & Dragons: Battlemarked is currently available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation VR2, PC, SteamVR, and Quest, with additional updates and paid downloadable content planned for later this year.
