Apple to Launch First Developer Centre in Berlin
Apple has announced the opening of its first Developer Centre in Europe, set to launch later this year in Berlin's Mitte district. This new facility aims to enhance support for developers throughout the region by providing direct access to Apple experts and a variety of resources. The centre will host in-person sessions, workshops, and one-on-one appointments tailored for teams at all stages of app development.
Designed to support development across iOS, iPadOS, macOS, tvOS, visionOS, and watchOS, the centre will feature dedicated labs and consultation areas where developers can receive hands-on assistance in multiple languages. Apple's initiative is part of its ongoing commitment to fostering a vibrant developer community in Europe, which is already home to many innovative app creators.
According to Apple, the facility will help improve the design, quality, and performance of apps through a structured programme of events and training opportunities. Developers will also have access to over 250,000 APIs across various frameworks, including HealthKit, Metal, Core ML, MapKit, and SwiftUI.
Why it matters
Susan Prescott, Apple’s VP of worldwide developer relations, emphasized the significance of providing developers with the right tools and resources, stating that amazing outcomes often follow such support. The Berlin Developer Centre will join Apple's existing centres in Bengaluru, Cupertino, Shanghai, and Singapore, further solidifying its global presence in developer engagement.
