Among Us TV Show Launches on Paramount+

The Among Us TV show has officially premiered on Paramount+, featuring a cast of cartoon crewmates who must transport Ore+ across the galaxy while identifying an imposter among them. This 10-episode series debuted on June 5, 2026, following its initial announcement three years earlier. Produced by CBS Studios and InnerSloth, the series boasts a notable cast, including Patton Oswalt, Elijah Wood, and Ashley Johnson.

While the show is exclusive to Paramount+, its first episode was released on YouTube the following day, June 6, generating over 2.8 million views within four days, indicating strong interest from viewers. The timing of this release aligns closely with the upcoming eighth anniversary of the Among Us game, which was originally launched on June 15, 2018. The game, which gained tremendous popularity during the pandemic for its social deduction mechanics, has expanded its reach from mobile platforms to PC, consoles, and now to television.

In the game, players take on the roles of crewmates who must deduce which among them is sabotaging their mission and eliminating others. The animated adaptation retains this core concept, emphasizing themes of teamwork and betrayal as crewmates navigate their intergalactic challenges. InnerSloth expressed their excitement about the adaptation, stating, "A lot of love and hard work was put into this, and it’s honestly insane to us that Among Us has made it to this point. An animated show! Who would’ve guessed?" They also highlighted the rarity of an indie game transitioning into a television format.

Why it matters

In the broader context of game adaptations, this year has seen The Super Mario Galaxy Movie achieve significant success, grossing over $1 billion at the box office since its release on April 1.
