Mabinogi Mobile launches AI Connector (Beta) on the 9th for PC-linked agents

Key takeaways

  • Nexon announced Mabinogi Mobile AI Connector (Beta) on the 9th
  • Supported AI tools include Claude Code, Cursor, Gemini CLI, Windsurf, Kiro, OpenCode
  • Connector beta is provided first on PC; AI fees are paid by users
  • AI runs only while player is logged in and cannot perform purchases or marketplace actions

Nexon announced on the 9th that Mabinogi Mobile will open a beta for the Mabinogi Mobile AI Connector, letting players link external AI tools to the game and run the feature first on PC during the trial period. The announcement appears on the game's official website and explains how players can install supported AI tools and enable the connector in the game's Environment Settings > Game menu.

The connector lists specific compatible tools: Claude Code, Cursor, Gemini CLI, Windsurf, Kiro, and OpenCode, among others named in Nexon's notice. To use the service players must install a supported AI client on their PC; the game then searches for installed tools and auto-registers connection info. The AI Connector is off by default and can be disabled anytime, and Nexon makes clear any AI usage fees are the player's responsibility.

Functions are split into two clear modes: "Ask" and "Assign." "Ask" returns game data without opening screens — like character stats, location, weather and time, currency, inventory weight, quests and daily/weekly missions, nearby NPCs and players, materials, sheet music and instruments. A short question can fetch those details directly, which could save clicking through menus for simple checks.

"Assign" lets an AI agent gather materials up to a target amount or move to facilities to perform crafting. It supports monitoring processing progress, picking up finished items, switching or playing instruments, and stopping the agent while it's working. Movement for gathering and crafting uses the in-game 'Spirit Wing', and to prevent unattended automation the connector requires the player to confirm a prompt every hour to continue.

Nexon also lists actions the AI cannot perform: listing or buying on the marketplace, growth-related autoplay, payments and cash-shop use, guild expulsion/appointments, sending 1:1 messages, dropping or dismantling items, and linking to external messengers or social networks. The connector only runs while the user is logged in and it will not log in for the player. General chat can be drafted by the AI but only sent after player approval; such AI-sent messages will display a distinct AI icon.

On privacy, Nexon says the connector can query nearby players' status but will not forward user-authored content to AI tools. Character names, guild names, and chat content are excluded; party and guild relationship data are sent without names. Minors may need parental consent depending on the AI provider's policy, which Nexon instructs players to verify with each AI service.

Why it matters

Nexon promises additional AI features will open after sufficient validation, and the same update will add non-AI convenience tweaks — larger base quantities when using the in-game "How to Obtain" tool, automatic reattempts for dungeon entries without regional tasks, and an Abyss retry option. If you plan to experiment, remember the beta is PC-first, AI costs fall to users, and core actions like marketplace trades and payments remain off-limits to agents.
